Karen has over 18 years of experience working with children ages 1–5. She has served as a preschool teacher, PK grade-level chair, and early interventionist, with a special focus on speech and language development. Born in El Salvador and raised in East Palo Alto from the age of 3, Karen is proud to serve the community she grew up in. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with children and families. Outside the classroom, Karen enjoys beach days, scenic drives, and family time. She also loves new adventures, with past highlights including skydiving, bungee jumping, and climbing a volcano in Nicaragua.
