East Pod Newsletter

Happy New Year All Five Community! This new year started with rain and boy was it exciting! We wore our special rain suits and rain boots and continued with our day as if it never rained! Although the rain did not stop us, we did get extra cold on some days, but we managed to remember to put on extra layers, jackets, gloves, and beanies.

What’s Happening!

This week in East Pod, we gave a warm welcome to our new friend, Madelyn! The children were very welcoming and helpful; teaching her what we do, how we do things, and inviting her to join in play.

Mask wearing over the past months has been a bit challenging but this week all children have taken part in reminding themselves and their friends why it is important to wear one throughout the day. Children have realized that mask wearing is easy, even fun, and they have been so proud of themselves for keeping it on. Ask your children at home “why do you wear a mask at school? Who are you keeping safe?”

Over the past few weeks all children have been playing together. While they at times have their differences, they also all come together for solutions!

Circle Time

Why do we keep wearing masks? We wear because we care! Mask wearing has become especially important at All Five and we want to understand why? We talked about why we continue to wear our masks during circle time. We talked about the correct way to wear a mask, the times we can take it off, how important it is to have it on, and even practiced putting it on Maya, our doll. We read the book “Guess How Much I Love You” and incorporated it with the usage of the mask “we love/care for our friends this much… that’s why we wear masks.” We wear because we care!
