We observe children are learning to be independent. Whether learning to separate from their caregiver, to putting  shoes on by themselves, remembering to use the bathroom  when you’re engaged in play/work or opting to have breakfast or snack, children learn how to listen to their bodies and help themselves. In just the third week of school, we notice children learning   and adapting to doing more for themselves. And if it’s challenging, children also learn that they can always ask for help.. Before the photo to the right, Josh said “You do it!” when it was time to put on shoes after sand play. With encouragement to try by himself, he was able to get most of his shoe on!
